A little bit about me…
I've been fascinated by people and the way we relate to one another for as long as I can remember. Why do some conversations bring people closer while others create distance? Why do certain relationship patterns repeat? What helps people feel understood, safe and connected? Those questions have shaped both my personal journey and my professional career.
Over time, I came to appreciate that healthy relationships are not simply a matter of luck or personality. They are influenced by our experiences, our environments and the skills we develop along the way.
Today, helping people understand these patterns and what shapes them is at the heart of my work.
Qualifications & Experience
Master of Counselling (UNE)
Bachelor of Western Herbal Medicine
Australian Counselling Association (ACA) Level 2 Member
Alongside counselling, I also work with children, adults, and families in the disability sector as a Behaviour Support Practitioner. This further deepens my understanding of human behaviour, neurodiversity, communication and the many factors that influence relationships.
My Approach
I believe meaningful change begins within a safe, respectful, and genuine therapeutic relationship.
Counselling provides an opportunity to better understand your experiences, explore the relationship patterns that may be influencing your life, and develop practical ways of responding to life's challenges. Every person's circumstances are different, so counselling is tailored to your goals, strengths and the changes you would like to make.
My approach is person-centred, recognising that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to provide a supportive environment where you feel heard, understood and able to explore your experiences without judgement.
I am also informed by Attachment Theory, recognising that our relationships and life experiences can shape the way we connect with ourselves and others over time. Together, we can explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion, developing greater self-awareness and more secure ways of relating.
My work is further informed by Bronfenbrenner's Bioecological Perspective, recognising that our wellbeing is influenced by the many relationships and environments that form part of our everyday lives. Rather than viewing problems in isolation, I consider the broader context of your experiences to better understand the factors contributing to your current challenges.
Drawing on my experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner, I also incorporate practical, evidence-informed strategies where appropriate. My aim is to help you not only better understand your experiences, but also develop realistic skills that support meaningful and lasting change in everyday life.
Above all, I strive to provide a counselling environment where you feel safe, respected and supported to explore your experiences at your own pace.
Collaborative
Counselling is a collaborative process. Together, we'll explore what has brought you to counselling and work towards the goals that are most important to you.
Person-Centred
Every person brings their own experiences, strengths and values. Counselling is tailored to your individual circumstances rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
Evidence-Informed
My approach draws on current research together with Person-Centred Therapy, Attachment Theory and Bronfenbrenner's Bioecological Perspective to support meaningful, lasting change.
Practical
Greater understanding is important, but lasting change also comes from developing practical skills that can be applied in everyday relationships and life.
Let’s figure it out together.
